As a past year 12 student who was looking to go to university with a strong English score, ATAR STAR and the team helped me achieve this.
Walking into English language classes in year 12, with average and below average scores did have me quite worried. With the help of my tutor I was able to break down concepts to help remember specific metalanguage and techniques that my school did not provide. This meant I was gaining excess knowledge, sophisticated and clear answers to earn full marks in my responses and provide the best writing I could to my school teachers and assessors during exams. I felt confident and prepared going into each SAC and English language exam. It made me feel excited walking into class feeling confident in what I had learnt from ATAR star. Thank you Luca and your amazing team.
A big YES to all students looking for personal, honest and supportive tutoring!! No regrets!

Throughout my daughter’s years of high school English was always her weakest subject. As determined as she was, each and every year she’d start with the drive to succeed only to end up realising her efforts were not paying off; so, before year 12, she had asked/stated she needed a tutor.
Not having a post VCE career path already decided as most students already do added to her worry to succeed as she felt she had no end goal to aim for. So it all relied on each subject’s study score, results scaled up and results scaled down and so the jargon goes, giving her the ATAR that would in turn likely decide her fate for her. As a parent I just wanted her to try her best and somehow enjoy the process but to do that I needed to give her access to more tools and resources to utilise. I wanted her to be able to say at the end of the year she truly tried her best and found enjoyment feeling empowered with knowledge and repeated practice to walk into her exam head held high no matter the outcome.
Luca ensured his tutoring aligned with the specific and new 2024 study design for English Language within the VCE curriculum and assessment requirements. It was a fresh and stressful start for VCE English Language in 2024 as it seems schools and everyone was scrambling to understand this new course. Luca was all over it and had been working on materials for the new course since 2022.
ATAR STAR exceeded both our expectations. This was more than just knowledge and critiques, it was about developing a trust in your tutor with such open communication that in the end she developed a real friendship and felt so supported throughout the entire process.
I have nothing but absolute praise and admiration for Luca and his team at ATAR STAR for taking my glass half empty daughter who thought she’d be lucky to even achieve a study score of 25 or above and be given the opportunity to attend university to not even thinking about that number as she focused on each week’s tasks to build on her skill set.
The belief that Luca had in my daughter was evident in our first communications and he made not just my daughter but also myself feel excited about the challenge ahead with the feeling of success within reach. In all her years of education never has she had a teacher mentor her the way Luca did to bring out in her the confidence to believe in the work she’s able to produce.
I am a big believer that the process is worth more than the outcome because that is where you learn about yourself and discover your strengths and abilities to learn, perform and succeed and then apply these skills in real life settings.
On the day that results were released Luca was the first call she received to see how she went, how she FELT and to say how proud and happy he was for her in that moment…. What more can I say 💕

As a teacher myself, I approached ATAR STAR TUITION with particularly high standards, and they’ve exceeded every single one of them. What immediately struck me was their holistic approach to education – they understand that academic success isn’t just about memorising facts or cramming for tests.
One thing that particularly impressed us is their ability to not just teach students what to learn, but how to learn. The progress tracking they use is sophisticated but accessibility, providing detailed insights into where children are improving, while also celebrating small victories upon the way.
After a year with ATAR STAR TUITION, both my children have developed not just stronger academic skills, but better study habits, improved time management, and most importantly a genuine love for learning.

Switched to ATAR STAR after disappointing experiences elsewhere, and what a difference! Their personalised approach and regular progress updates keep us informed and on track. My daughter’s English grades have improved significantly, and she actually enjoys her sessions!!

This is where it all starts. You’ll work with everything from basic polynomials to exponentials and trigonometric functions. More importantly, you’ll learn to understand how these functions behave and why – skills that make later topics like calculus far more intuitive!
Calculus is truly the heart of methods. Differentiation and integration may seem daunting at first, but they’re actually powerful tools that help us understand rates of change, find optimal solutions, and calculate areas in ways that would be otherwise impossible. Once you get it, you’ll see why calculus changed mathematics forever.
How do we make sense of random events? From analysing probability distributions to making statistical inferences, you’ll learn to work with uncertainty and data in ways that are crucial for fields like economics, science and data analysis
School-based tasks spread across Units 3 and 4
One without technology (20%), and one with your CAS calculator (40%)
Methods isn’t about memorising formulas or following templates. It’s about understanding patterns and developing problem-solving skills that work across different types of questions.
We focus on:
Most importantly, we adapt to how you think. Some students are visual learners. Others need to understand the real world applications. Some just want to know the underlying logic. Whatever works for you, we’ll find it.
The skills you’ll develop in Methods – logical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail – these stay with you long after the exams are done. Whether you’re heading into engineering, science or any field that uses quantitative thinking, you’ll be glad you put in the work here.
